Every other evening or so I go trawling for Sherlock fic. I keep reading until I hit the jackpot. (The alternate evenings I am still stuck on whatever I just found...)
Tonight: breathlessly good. I've been avoiding anything where they're writing the characters into standard kinkplay with all the trappings, because dull
. Kink should arise effortlessly from the characters' pretty little twisted minds (wordstrings
! Paradox series
!), not be all heavy-handed and S&M club.
This is different, it's perfect. Transport

. I like the pun in the title. I just read it three times without stopping, and I'm resisting going back right now. Looks like I'm going to have to check her other works too...
Finds from two nights ago: a trio of stories (two related, one different) by the_arc5
: Here, our minutes grow hours
and Until the second hand stops
, a pair of fics with adrenalinejunkie!S&J, and a very different, more subdued take on broken!Sherlock in All that I have
. John in this one is my 2nd favorite version, altered-boundaries!John, but not as intensely so as in Paradox. (I was calling this version of John no-boundaries!John, but the boundaries are there, just... not anywhere near where you'd expect them to be.)
Previous find: a cache of Study in Emerald crossover. Basically, BBC Sherlock and John in versions of Neil Gaiman's take on Victorian Holmes and Watson in Lovecraft's universe. The Queen's Guard
, Brightly Burning
, Never Look Back
, Memories and Possibilities
(in increasing order of goodness).
Previous find: Apotheosis
, by mad_maudlin
. My favorite BAMF!John story. Actually, anything where they use "assassin" and "John" in the same sentence is good.
Previous find: recollection is getting a bit blurry, but there was definitely some Two Two One Bravo Baker
in there (WIP).
First finds: irisbleufic
's stuff, and the aforementioned Paradox series
, the latter of which I found by putting "dark" in my google string, and which is the hands-down best sociopathic!Sherlock (and altered-boundaries!John) ever.
This took a lot longer than I expected. Must have something to do with all the re-reading...
